Thursday Network is partnering with SMYAL DC to support LGBTQ+ youth in Washington, DC through a Food Kit Drive rooted in our Civic Advocacy and Social Determinants of Health pillars.

Through June 26, we will be collecting nonperishable food items to help SMYAL's street outreach team provide essential support to youth experiencing housing instability. Donations can be purchased through our Amazon Wish List or dropped off at the Greater Washington Urban League during standard business hours.

The initiative will culminate on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, when volunteers will come together to assemble and package food kits for distribution. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about SMYAL's mission and the impact their outreach programs have on LGBTQ+ youth throughout the region.

Can't attend Packaging Day? You can still support the initiative by purchasing items from our Amazon Wish List or dropping off donations at the Greater Washington Urban League through June 26.

For those wishing to donate items outside of the Wish List, please note that canned goods cannot be accepted. To help keep food kits lightweight and easy to distribute, we encourage donations of shelf-stable, nonperishable items instead.

Join us as we work together to make a meaningful difference in our community. We look forward to serving alongside you!
